We Are One Africa was founded in 2021 and is a registered and certified NGO in Tanzania. Our team consists of professional employees with knowledge and experience in the field. You can learn more about us and our activities on our social media platforms, such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, or Google. If you would like to get to know us better, we would be happy to arrange a video or voice call with you.

We maintain close contact with our past participants and hostel guests. While we cannot guarantee sharing contact details without consent, if someone agrees, we can facilitate the connection. Additionally, you will find feedback and testimonials from previous volunteers sliding on our website.

Absolutely! We welcome families and individuals of all ages. We will ensure that we cover everyone’s interests and provide suitable project options for you and your family.

The capacity of our projects may vary. Generally, we can accommodate groups of 2-8 people in the same project at the same time. Please contact us with your group size, and we will do our best to accommodate you.

The visa requirements depend on the project you choose. Once you get in touch with us, we will provide you with the necessary information regarding the visa category you need. If you are not joining a project, you will need a tourist visa, which costs $50 and is valid for 90 days.

If you are travelling to Tanzania for holidays without joining a project, it is entirely up to you whether you apply for a visa online before arrival. Some individuals find it easier and reassuring to apply online to reduce stress. However, the waiting time at the airport will be the same whether you apply online or on arrival. If you are joining a project with us, please wait for the necessary documents before arrival.

No, you cannot pay by card at the airport. Please ensure you have enough USD with you, as they only accept USD as payment. Additionally, please make sure that your banknotes are not older than 2013, as older banknotes may be refused.

No, there is no need to worry about your visa being declined. We have not had any cases of individuals being rejected entry. In case any problems arise, we will be reachable and ready to assist you.

Tanzania, including Zanzibar, has lifted its COVID-19 travel restrictions. However, there is a possibility that you may be asked to undergo a rapid test upon arrival, which would be free of charge.

Yes! You will be picked up by our We Are One driver, who will be waiting for you at the airport with a sign bearing your name. They will take you directly to our We Are One Hostel.

The spontaneity of joining a project depends on the specific project. For We Are One projects, we can confirm and plan your trip within 1-2 weeks. Projects with which we have cooperation may take a little longer, up to 4 weeks.

Most of our projects require participants to be at least 18 years old. However, we also offer some projects for individuals as young as 16 years old. Please contact us for more information on age requirements for specific projects.

We welcome individuals of all ages. Age is not a limitation for us, and we would be delighted to welcome everyone passionate about making a difference.

Certainly! We can provide you with a certificate from We Are One before you arrive in Tanzania and even after you have completed your project. Please let us know your university’s requirements, and we will ensure the necessary documentation is provided.

We will send you all the information about the required vaccinations via email as soon as you get in touch with us. It is essential to stay up to date with the necessary vaccinations to ensure your health and safety during your stay.

No, speaking Swahili is not necessary. Many people in Tanzania can speak English, and our projects do not require knowledge of Swahili. However, it is beneficial to learn some basic vocabulary to communicate while shopping for food in local markets. If you are interested, we also offer Swahili lessons at our hostel.
